Nominate a neighbour for volunteer awards

Town of Claremont Mayor Jock Barker is calling for nominations for this year’s Volunteer Awards, with the Covid-19 pandemic bringing out the volunteering spirit in Claremont community.Mayor Jock Barker said the awards were a great way to recognise the contribution people have made to the community during the trying times of 2020.“Covid-19 has disrupted all of our lives, but in a way it has brought out a sense of community among us that I have never seen before,” Mayor Barker said. “There are people who have contributed and volunteered their time through this pandemic - to help the elderly, to help those isolating, or even to help those who were in unfortunate situations.“Never have we relied more on the help of those closest to us, so why not nominate a neighbour, who demonstrated the volunteering spirit of Claremont.
