Former Councillor makes Queen’s Birthday Honours List
Town of Claremont 12 Jun 2020
Town of Claremont Mayor Jock Barker has congratulated former Councillor Dr Alastair Tulloch for being recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List earlier this week.

Dr Tulloch was awarded an AM in the Order of Australia for his significant service to medicine, to urology, and to the community of Claremont.

Mayor Barker said Dr Tulloch’s involvement in the medical industry reached an international scale which was well and truly worthy of the award.

“He is a very quiet achiever and has done phenomenal work in the medical profession, including being instrumental in setting up the Prostate Cancer Institute and the Keogh institute which is now a worldwide recognised body,” Mayor Barker said.

Dr Tulloch’s achievements include being the Medical Director at St John of God Health Care, and Head of Urology at Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital, Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Western Australia, and Founding Member of the Western Australian Urological Research Group as well as a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Further to his achievements in the medical industry, Dr Tulloch has also provided an enormous contribution to Claremont and the broader community as a Board Member of SHINE Aged Care Services as well as serving as a Councillor for the Town for eight years.

“Congratulations to our friend and colleague, Alastair now joins Councillor Peter Browne OAM in distinguished service to the Nation,” Mayor Barker said. Back To News Stories
