Minor Flood Warning for the Murrumbidgee River at Tumut, Gundagai, Wagga Wagga, Narrandera, Darlington Point, Hay Issued at 11:56 am EST on Friday 6 August 2021 Flood Warning Number: 7

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT NARRANDERA AND DARLINGTON POINT Minor flooding continues along the Murrumbidgee River at Narrandera. The Murrumbidgee River at Darlington Point exceeded the minor flood level (5.50 metres) around 7:00pm Thursday. The Murrumbidgee River at Hay may reach the minor flood level (6.50 metres) late next week. A more accurate forecast will be provided once upstream peaks have been observed. Releases from Burrinjuck and Blowering Dams combined with local tributary inflows are causing flooding near minor levels along the Tumut and Murrumbidgee Rivers this week. The Tumut River at Tumut is likely to remain below the minor flood level of 2.0 metres today and over the weekend. Similarly, along the Murrumbidgee River at Gundagai and Wagga Wagga river levels are expected to remain below the minor flood levels today and over the weekend.

Tumut River: Levels below the minor flood level expected along the Tumut River. The Tumut River at Tumut is likely to continue to remain below the minor flood level of 2.00 metres today and over the weekend.

Murrumbidgee River downstream of Burrinjuck to Wagga Wagga: Levels below the minor flood level are expected along the Murrumbidgee River downstream of Burrinjuck to Wagga Wagga. The Murrumbidgee River at Gundagai is likely to continue to remain around 5.80 metres today and over the weekend. This is below the minor flood level of 6.10 metres. The Murrumbidgee River at Wagga Wagga will continue to remain below the minor flood level (7.30 m) today and over the weekend.

Murrumbidgee River downstream of Wagga Wagga to Narrandera: Minor flooding is occurring along the Murrumbidgee River downstream of Wagga Wagga to Narrandera. The Murrumbidgee River at Narrandera is around the peak flood level of 6.70 metres, with minor flooding occurring. Minor flooding is expected to continue into next week.

Murrumbidgee River downstream of Narrandera to Darlington Point: Minor flooding is occurring along the Murrumbidgee River downstream of Narrandera to Darlington Point. The Murrumbidgee River at Darlington Point may peak near 5.80 metres Sunday evening, with minor flooding.

Murrumbidgee River downstream of Darlington Point to Balranald Weir: Minor flooding may occur along the Murrumbidgee River downstream of Darlington Point to Balranald Weir. The Murrumbidgee River at Hay Town may reach the minor flood level (6.50 metres) around Friday 13 August 2021.
