3rd Biennial my Moree Photography Competition Launched The My Moree photography competition is back for its third outing, with an impressive $4,900 in prizes for local and visiting photographers. The competition, which encourages entrants to share what the phrase “my Moree” means to them, was launched on the My Moree Facebook page on 18 July 2021 and will remain open until midnight Sunday 8 August 2021. Shortlisted entries will once again be showcased in a feature exhibition at Bank Art Museum Moree (BAMM) from 3 September 2021.     “The past two years may have presented a number of challenges for the Moree Plains and its townships, however, it has also been a time of great optimism, with the rains bringing more prosperous times for our farmers and many of our local businesses”, said Mayor Cr Katrina Humphries. “The transformation of the landscape has been truly remarkable, and it’s also been wonderful to see a bustle return to the Moree CBD, with many new faces calling Moree home thanks to the construction of the Inland Rail.” 2021 My Moree photography competition provides entrants with an opportunity to share not only what the region, its people, and community means to them, but also to showcase some of the significant transformations that have taken place. “It’s a wonderfully exciting time for the region, and a great time to highlight this through the My Moree photography competition”, said Cr Humphries. Bank Art Museum Moree’s Acting Director Kate Tuart explained that BAMM was once again thrilled to partner with Council on the project and host the culminating exhibition. “The My Moree photography exhibition is always a highlight on our exhibition calendar. Not only do we love welcoming many locals to BAMM to view the photographs, but we receive great feedback from visitors who enjoy the insight into our local community and celebration of our iconic landscapes”, said Ms. Tuart.     To enter the competition and be in the running for $4,900 worth of prizes, an entrant must upload an image as a visitor post to the My Moree Facebook page during the competition period.
