The community is being invited to submit ideas for the future use of the interior of Manly Town Hall, while preserving its iconic 84-year heritage in the seaside suburb.
Ideas are being sought on what the indoor spaces might be repurposed for community use.
Located in the heart of Manly, the Town Hall has views of Manly Wharf and has varying sized interior spaces suitable for a range of community purposes including, workshops, meetings, performances and health and leisure activities.
Built in 1937 for £15,000 in the Stripped Classical architectural style, the Town Hall boasts four imposing pillars flanking the main entrance.
Over the years Manly Town Hall has been used as administration for Manly Council as well as for community events and exhibitions.
With the amalgamation of Manly Council into the new Northern Beaches Council in May 2016, the Town Hall was the site of the first meeting of the new council on 19 May.
Following amalgamation and the consolidation of Council staff accommodation, there is an opportunity to reimagine and revitalise the Town Hall and consider what it could be used for in the future.
Last year, Council approved the interim use of the Councillors Room, Council Chambers and Cove Meeting Room for community groups and private functions.
The community can have their say until 16 December, 2020.
