Following the devastation of the bushfires over summer, there was hardly time to assess the damage before the community was faced with storms, floods and then the Covid-19 pandemic.

Resilience NSW has made a commitment to provide ongoing assistance to anyone who was directly impacted by the bushfires, with Community Links carrying out the local recovery service in Wollondilly.

The Recovery Support Service will link impacted residents to their own personalised recovery support worker, who can help them navigate and access services and disaster assistance packages.

Recovery support workers will be there to walk alongside residents, providing help to address the complex challenges and issues that emerge throughout the recovery journey. Recovery Support Services will also build connections with local community resources and can link you to programs and services.

This service provided by Resilience NSW is available to anyone who has been directly impacted by the bushfires; residents with damaged or destroyed homes and residents experiencing additional impacts from the bushfires (social, emotional and financial). The service is also available to business owners, primary producers and rural landholders.

Community Links is the local Recovery Support Service in Wollondilly. Council’s Community Recovery Officer will continue to work closely with Community Links and the Community to identify needs, develop local recovery programs, and assist in accessing information and resources.
