Advertisements ANNUAL PERMITS FOR NON-DESEXED CATS AND DANGEROUS/RESTRICTED DOGS

Residents are hereby advised that annual permits for non-desexed cats as well as restricted and dangerous dogs have recently been introduced by the NSW Government and will come into effect from 1 July 2020.

Under this initiative cats that have not been desexed by four months of age will incur an annual fee of $80. Exemptions will be in place for cats that are registered by 1 July 2020, those kept for breeding bodies, and cats unable to be desexed for medical reasons (declaration from practicing veterinarian required). Owners of dogs declared to be dangerous or of a restricted breed will have to pay $195 each year. These recurring charges are in addition to the one-off pet registration fee for each animal.

Pet owners will be able to pay for annual permits online via the NSW Pet Registry website, or in-person at Council’s Administration Office.

Further information regarding the new annual permits is available at https://www.olg.nsw.gov.au/councils/responsible-pet-ownership/nsw-pet-registry/annual-permits/.
