Youth Week is an opportunity for young people aged 12 to 24 to express their ideas and views, act on issues that affect their lives, and create and enjoy activities and events.

Usually this involves activities and events at local parks, libraries and community halls to get young people together to celebrate, connect and have fun.

With the current restrictions around gatherings, the Wollondilly Youth Advisory Committee wanted to make sure that local young people could still connect during these challenging times. So although they can’t meet in person to celebrate, they will still be connecting online and supporting each other. This is definitely a Youth Week with a difference!

Mayor Matthew Deeth said, “It is great to see the Youth Advisory Committee taking the opportunity to try new things to keep connected.”

“It is now more important than ever that we keep up our social contact with our communities while we are physically distancing.”

The #YouthWeekChallenge is a 7 day isolation challenge to help young people engage, communicate and keep themselves active through social media.

The YAC has four $50 gift vouchers to give away - simply complete the daily challenges upload to either Instagram or TikTok with the hashtag #YouthWeekChallenge and you could be in with a chance to win.
