In response to the COVID-19 crisis, the Wollondilly Library Services Children’s Team is supporting the littlest community members by delivering virtual storytime sessions through Facebook Live.

The interactive sessions allow children to engage with and interactively share stories, songs and craft from the vicinity of their living room.

The children are able to feel connected to their community and gain a sense of stability during this period of uncertainty by participating in their normal storytime routine, but in a virtual manner.

Wollondilly Mayor Matthew Deeth said, “It is great to see the library staff taking opportunities to try new things to deliver this service to the community.”

“It is a great way for children to remain connected and still be able to enjoy the very popular storytime sessions.”

The Library Children’s Team will continue to regularly host virtual live storytime sessions and will also provide e-resources and information to families who are home schooling their children.

Details of upcoming virtual storytime sessions will be publicised on the Wollondilly Library Services website and Facebook page.
