Press Release

COVID-19 Coronavirus

NSW Health website has stated that there has been one confirmed case of the above virus in the Weddin Shire.

While this is unfortunate it is important that we are compassionate and considerate towards the resident involved as this virus will not discriminate.  As this is a very difficult time it is important that we are patient, caring and respectful of each other in dealing with this pandemic.

In the meantime it is very important that we adhere to the legislation and regulations the Federal and State Governments are introducing as well as continuing to undertake various measures such as social distancing and proper hygiene practices to reduce or eliminate this deadly virus.

The State Government has also announced the decision to postpone the September 2020 Local Government Elections due to the COVID-19 crisis.  Minister Hancock has confirmed the Local Government elections are now set to be held in September 2021 however, there is a possibility that a further extension to 31 December 2021 may be enacted, should the need arise.

Further information will be provided to residents when it becomes available.
