Eurobodalla residents have until this Friday to nominate deserving locals for Eurobodalla Council’s Local Hero Awards.

Introduced in 2018, the Local Hero Awards recognise Eurobodalla residents who make outstanding contributions to the community.

Nominees may have provided outstanding service in any field; such as sports, community service, health, education, arts and/or the environment, or excelled in service to the community. They may be responsible for individual acts of compassion, generosity, bravery, ingenuity, or have had exceptional professional accomplishments.

Eurobodalla Mayor Liz Innes said Council wanted to recognise Eurobodalla’s unsung heroes and celebrate all they gave to the community.

“These awards are about giving recognition to the many people who give up their own time for the benefit of others and for our community as a whole,” she said.

“Each year we call for nominations in the lead up to National Volunteers Week, during which the winners are announced at a ceremony held in the beautiful Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden.

“Nominating someone is easy and quick – you can do it online via Council’s website, by sending an email, or for those who don’t have the internet they can give Council a call on 4474 1358. But you’ll need to be quick – nominations close Friday 3 May 2019.”
