UPDATE: LEVEL 2 WATER RESTRICTIONS TOTTENHAM AND ALBERT 11 Jan 2019 3:30 PM -

Existing Level 1 Water Restrictions in Tottenham and Albert will be upgraded to Level 2 Water Restrictions effective 9.00am Monday, 14 January 2019 for all residents connected to a town water supply:

·         in Tottenham

·         in Albert

·         off the B-Section Pipeline

The increased restrictions permit watering every second day under the odds and evens system. During daylight savings time, watering times are now in the mornings at 6am – 9am and in the evenings at 6pm – 9pm.

Council is increasing the restrictions on water use in Tottenham and Albert because:

there has been a decrease in potable water available from the B-Section pipeline from Parkes and Forbes Shire Councils since the New Yearthe level of water available in the Leg O Mutton Dam is dropping by up to 1m every weekthere has been inadequate inflow into the Leg O Mutton Dam through rainfall and run offcontinued level of use of water in Albert and Tottenham at Level 1 Water Restrictions may see the Leg O Mutton Dam run out of water within 6-8 weeks.

Accordingly, Level 2 Water Restrictions are required to ration the available supply of water. Residents are requested to remain vigilant with potable water usage and to be water wise.  Restrictions are to be reviewed on a weekly basis with any changed being communicated to residents.
