Following enquiries from our rural residents and a Notice of Motion from Cr Libby Martin, Armidale Regional Council will be following Walcha Council’s initiative and rolling out blue & white addressing signs to our rural residents.

Urban and rural residents are encouraged to display their property address number at the entrance to their property so they are more easily located by visitors and emergency, delivery and postal services.

Rural residents must display the Council allocated property address number based on the distance from the beginning of the road and if applicable, a property name can be displayed as well.

To assist in this process, rural residents can order a sign, with the cost to be determined based on cost of the sign, post and installation. The double-sided reflective sign can be read from both directions and will be installed by Council in accordance with the Rural Addressing Standards (AS/NZS:4819:2011).  Signs will be ordered when there are sufficient signs to be erected on your rural road.

Application forms are being developed and will be available in January 2019. To register your interest, please send an e-mail to [email protected]
