City centre is the place to be in the lead-up to the Great Race

Bathurst’s city centre will be alive with activity, entertainment, food and plenty of fun for the whole family in the lead-up to the Great Race.

The excitement commences with B-Rock Super Wednesday and the Transporter and Driver Parade on 3 October. Fans will have the opportunity to see their favourite teams as the Supercars transporters and drivers make their way along William Street. As part of the event, the popular Driver Signing sessions will return to Kings Parade followed by the unveiling of the last year’s winner’s plaque.

A new LEGO Play Zone will be the highlight of the Saturday Street Fair. The play zone will allow fans to stretch their imagination and compete in fun and exciting challenges, featuring products from the LEGO Speed Champions sets. The Saturday Street Fair will feature food and market stalls, a variety of live performances and the unforgettable $2 rides for the children.

Mayor Graeme Hanger OAM said off-track events add to the excitement of race week and creates a great atmosphere in the city centre.

“The off-track events have something for everyone and brings people to the heart of Bathurst which is great for local businesses and the economy,” he said.

“The SuperCheap Auto Bathurst 1000 injects over $21 million into our local economy each year.”
