Today City of Canada Bay Mayor Angelo Tsirekas announced local Italian cuisine king Pasticceria Papa as Ferragosto’s presenting partner for a two year run.   “I am thrilled with this partnership. With strong Italian roots and a passion for providing delicious food to Five Dock locals and visitors, Pasticceria Papa is the perfect fit for Ferragosto,” said City of Canada Bay Mayor Angelo Tsirekas.

This iconic Italian festival will be back this year celebrating its 21st birthday along Great North Road, Five Dock on Sunday, 19 August 2018. The street festival is the City of Canada Bay’s largest annual event, attracting over 110,000 visitors.

“Ferragosto is such a significant part of the strong Italian heritage throughout the Five Dock community, and what better way for us to celebrate its 21st birthday than to join forces for the best party ever,” said Salvatore Papa.

Pasticceria Papa, home of the famous baked ricotta cheese cake, is a thriving retail and wholesale operation, delivering the finest Italian ingredients, served with Salvatore Papa’s passionate commitment to retaining traditional flavours.  Their stores are located at Bondi, Haberfield, and their headquarters and home of their baking and making: Five Dock.

“Make sure to come along to Ferragosto, grab a bite to eat from our stall, and take part in our cannoli competition on the main stage,” said Salvatore Papa.

“When it comes to creating delicious traditional southern Italian cuisine and teaming up with Ferragosto, it’s true what they say: Papa knows best,” said Mayor Tsirekas.

Festival goers can also enjoy best of Italian culture and entertainment on display on the day with more than 300 retailers, food and merchandise stalls offering delicious street eats and handcrafted goods. There will also be spectacular dance and music performances across five stages, children’s entertainment, Italian vehicles on display, and more.

Ferragosto promises to be the perfect way to explore the beauty of Italian culture in Five Dock and celebrate the vibrant multiculturalism in the City of Canada Bay on Sunday, 19 August from 10am-4pm.
