Lighting infrastructure and switchboards upgrades at The Broken Hill Tennis Club, located at the E.P O’Neill Memorial Park are underway.
Local contractor MBE Electrical were awarded the contract, with works commencing on Thursday, 2 May 2024. The work includes the replacement of lights on Courts 7-12 whilst retaining the existing light poles. Once completed, the poles and lights on Courts 1-6 will be replaced along with the existing switchboards upgraded.
Mayor Tom Kennedy said the upgrades were welcomed by all.
“The Broken Hill Tennis Club regularly hold night tournaments, events and hires out the venue for social functions. These upgrades will ensure the club has modern and compliant lighting and hopefully offers an opportunity to grow the sport among the community.” he said
The scheduled works have an estimated timeframe of 6 months and is funded by the Broken Hill City Council.
