Boil Water Alert

Yass Valley Council has been granted approval to begin flushing the water system to address the current water quality issues. In the meantime, the Boil Water Alert is still in effect.

On Monday, Council started to flush the areas supplied by Morton and O’Connell Reservoirs in Yass. During flushing, residents may experience higher chlorine levels and discolouration. If discolouration is experienced, run the first tap after the water meter to clear discolouration. Remaining areas of Yass, Murrumbateman, Bowning and Binalong areas will be flushed for the rest of the week.

Council will give an update each day on the areas we will be flushing.

Community Strategic Plan Survey

Yass Valley Council is excited to launch the Towards 2042 community survey. The Towards 2042 Community Strategic Plan outlines the main aspirations and priorities for our local government area for the next 20 years.

Towards 2042 survey asks the local community some key questions to make sure it is an accurate representation of our future. Council has a custodial role in initiating and preparing the Community Strategic Plan, but it is a community plan. Many partners, such as state agencies and community groups, will be responsible for its implementation. The Community Strategic Plan ensures the whole community is working towards a shared vision for a better future.

The survey is available on Council’s website: https://www.yassvalley.nsw.gov.au until 15 March.
