A crowd of up to 2000 people from Corowa and neighbouring communities turned out on Saturday 20th January for Rock On The River, a live music event at Rowers Park hosted by Federation Council.

As the sun began to set, Rowers Park transformed into a lively hub of music, food, drink and free face painting for the kids as attendees soaked up the melodies against the beautiful backdrop of the Murray River.

The evening commenced with Uncle Dozer delivering a heartfelt Welcome to Country, honouring the traditional custodians of the land and looking to a future of community celebration and unity. From 4pm, eager attendees secured their spots on picnic rugs, and enjoyed tasty bites from food vans such as Slinky Spuds, Redhead and Chef, and the irresistible Mr Sheppy’s Ice Cream.

The talented musical lineup featuring Toby Mobbs, Pixie, Joe Mungovan, Mt Maze, and headliner Benny Walker who delivered captivating performances, casting a spell that transformed the evening into the epitome of a perfect summer night.

Federation Council Mayor, Cr Pat Bourke said the night was like no other and it was fantastic to see so many people on the foreshore in Corowa enjoying the riverside fun on offer.

“The whole evening was just incredible and I have been overwhelmed with positive comments from those who attended that said the concert and atmosphere was fantastic,” he said.

“On behalf of Council I would like to thank the Corowa Business Chamber, Corowa Rutherglen Football & Netball Club, Council staff, The Bravery and supporting organisations who worked tirelessly to ensure this event was a success and enjoyed by the wider region. What a way to start the New Year. Well done to all involved.”
