New exhibition captures Albury from the 1930s-1950s

Finding Doctor Woods: His Films of Albury and Beyond contains footage captured on 8mm film by well-known local Dr Leslie Samuel ‘Sam’ Woods (1896-1986).

Moments captured in the collection include Albury’s Dean Street in 1938, life at ‘Valetta’ (the Woods’ house on Swift Street), pre-war Europe including buildings and monuments which were later destroyed, Germany on the eve of World War II… and more.

The exhibition will be on display at the Albury LibraryMuseum from Friday 29 September until Sunday 3 December.

The community are invited to a free launch event at 5.30pm on Friday 29 September. There will also be a bus tour to Jindera Pioneer Museum on Saturday 30 September where participants can see items from the family home of Valetta.
