In The Spirit Of Giving, Give Local This Christmas

As the residents on the Plains start to plan their Christmas Gifts, we encourage everyone to Think LOVE LOCAL GIFT CARDS.

After our recent flood event what better way to show our appreciation to our local businesses in Moree, Mungindi & Pallamallawa.

This wonderful Council funded initiative helps support our local economy, by keeping the money within the Shire.

“This Christmas, I encourage everyone to buy Love Local Gift Cards for family and friends, to help support local businesses that have continued to support our community,” said the President of Chamber of Commerce, Dibs Cush.

“As a business owner, having someone come to load or redeem a Local Gift Card in your business is a great opportunity to showcase your products and shoppers are surprised with what they may find locally.” Dibs, remarked.

Tonight is late night shopping for ‘Light Up The Night’, a perfect opportunity to wander through our local businesses from 5pm to 8pm, to coincide with the lighting up of the town Christmas tree, located on the steps outside the Moree Memorial Hall.

Right now, we have $42K, sitting in local wallets to be redeemed and late night shopping gives people an opportunity to spend some local money that may still be in their wallets.

With over 100 participating businesses across the Shire, there are a wide range of industries to choose from, local hair and beauty salons, cafes, restaurants and pubs, retail and agribusinesses that are ready to accept Love Local Gift Cards, while some of these businesses are also Load-Up Stores.

Together we can make this Christmas a time of celebration and prosperity within our community.
