COMMUNITY POP-UPS AND EXTENDED EXHIBITION PERIOD FOR DRAFT LAND USE STRATEGY
Lachlan Council News 31 Jan 2022

Lachlan Shire Council advises that the Draft Rural and Industrial Land Use Strategy public exhibition period has been extended to 14 February 2022. This Strategy will guide land use planning for industrial and rural development for the next 20 years.

Lachlan Shire Council Manager Town Planning Bryce Koop said, “it responds to a shortage of suitable industrial land within the Shire which is limiting the growth of our industrial sector, particularly in Condobolin, Lake Cargelligo, and Tottenham.

The Strategy aims to ensure rural land is appropriately protected from encroachment of inappropriate land uses and promote diversification in the agricultural industry.”

Council will host several community pop-ups around the Shire over the next week. These sessions will assist to inform the community and build on feedback from over 30 key industry stakeholders who have already engaged with Council.
