Open Space Strategy and Yass Main Street Masterplan Project Committees Councillors adopted the terms of reference for the Yass Valley Open Space Project Committee and Yass Main Street Masterplan Project Committee. Council will now invite representatives from the community to apply to join the committees.

Draft Housing Issues Paper

It was agreed that the Draft Housing Issues Paper will be placed on public exhibition. The paper will inform the upcoming Yass Valley Settlement Strategy review and advocacy to the NSW Government.

Planning Proposal - 2402 Sutton Road, Sutton Councillors approved the revised planning proposal for 2402 Sutton Road, Sutton and stipulated that if approved, the subdivision design should provide pedestrian connections back to the village when constructed.

Walker Park fee waiver Council will reimburse 60 per cent of Yass United Rugby League Football Club and Yass Touch Football Association’s costs associated with field remediation work activities.

Tesla Electric vehicle charging station Councillors decided only to support a proposal from Tesla to install electric vehicle charging stations in six car parks, in Yass Park and Ride if they are universal charges and available to all makes of EV.

Coronation Park miracle slide The miracle slide removed from Coronation Park in 2019 will go to a community group/member or be disposed of after Yass High School notified the Council of its intention not to proceed with turning the slide into an artistic display. A sign detailing the slide’s historical significance to the town will be erected in Coronation Park.

Library overdue fines Councillors agreed to wave library fees at Yass Valley Library. All current overdue fines will be waived and charging overdue library fees be discontinued.

Caretaker period The General Manager will be responsible for Council decisions between the NSW Local Government Elections on 4 December, until the first meeting of the new Council on 12 January.

Christmas/New Year Opening Hours Councillors agreed that all Council services will be closed from close of business on Thursday, 23 December until Tuesday, 4 January, other than:

Swimming Pools – open other than Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Yass Valley Information Centre - open other than Christmas Day. Waste Transfer Stations – open other than Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Waste collections – collections scheduled for Christmas Day will be collected on an alternate day with customers advised in the week before Christmas. Collections on other public holidays will proceed as normal. Roads and maintenance services– skeleton crews will be maintained to attend to service needs and emergencies. Water and wastewater - skeleton crews will be maintained to attend to service needs and emergencies. Duty officer – an on-call duty officer will be maintained over the entire period
