It’s what locals already knew and now it’s confirmed– the Manly Scenic Walkway, also known as the Manly to Spit walk, is unquestionably a little slice of paradise.

The scenic coastal walk with unparalleled ocean views has won the 2021 Trip Advisor Travellers’ Choice Award, meaning it’s now in the top 10 percent of attractions worldwide on the popular visitor platform.

Outside of COVID, 2.6 million people visit the Northern Beaches each year and a huge percentage of them take on the 10 kilometre walk.

And the proof is in the pudding! Browsing TripAdvisor reviews will have reader’s inner wanderlust in overdrive:

“This is such a rewarding and picturesque walk and I would happily do it again. One of the best things you can do in Sydney.” - S4nny Bunny from Melbourne.

“Fabulous views, wonderful walk with lots to see and do on the way round. You have to get out there and enjoy the atmosphere and usually great weather” - Sandy B from Sydney gave the walk five stars.

Not only popular with tourists, but we’ve heard the walk is also a go to for many locals.

“I love this walk so much, it’s the perfect place to escape and forgot about everything. It has everything from sweeping vistas over the harbour, looking out to the heads, and the perfect balance of bushland and birds. I also love being able to look back over the Manly peninsula and see the Sydney Harbour and then the ocean on the other side.” – Julie Anne from Freshwater.

With the walk being so popular, National Parks and Wildlife Service and Council are regularly maintaining and upgrading the walkway so it can be enjoyed by everyone. Earlier this year, Council upgraded large sections of the path and installed new handrails and sandstone steps along the track.
