Liverpool City Council has today announced it will extend hardship provisions to all eligible rateable properties in the Liverpool Local Government Area including residential, business and farmland.

The hardship provisions were resolved at Council’s July meeting and will apply to rates that fall due from July 2021 onwards.

Mayor of Liverpool Wendy Waller said this decision is just one of many necessary measures Council is implementing to provide support to the community.

“We care deeply about all our residents and businesses, particularly those who have been doing it tough because of lost revenue and income under extended stay-at-home orders.

“We hope these hardship provisions will bring some welcome financial relief to residents and local business owners who may be wondering how they are going to support their families or keep the lights over the next month.”

At the July meeting, Council also approved to suspend debt recovery action until state-wide COVID-related restrictions are lifted.

Residents, businesses, and landowners can apply for hardship provisions via Council’s online application form.
