Organisations supporting the community through the COVID-19 pandemic are being encouraged to apply for a Campbelltown Cares grant.

Grants of up to $2000 are available to community groups and registered not-for-profit organisations to help fund programs responding to COVID-19.

“We have so many fantastic organisations who have stepped up to support different parts of our community during the COVID-19 pandemic,” Mayor George Brticevic said.

“We know there are many people who have been impacted by the COVID-19 health restrictions in different ways,” Cr Brticevic said.

“Council is committed to supporting our community during this difficult period and these grants are just one way to help our wonderful community groups carry out their important work,” he said.

Organisations are encouraged to apply if their program addresses:

Social isolation Food security Homelessness Domestic violence Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community wellbeing Refugees, migrant and asylum seekers Targeted activities related to youth isolation, disengagement, self-harm and suicide.

Applications are open until Friday 6 August.
