WENDY TUCKERMAN: Plans lodged for new school in Murrumbateman

Official Media Release - Wendy Tuckerman  Monday, 21 June 2021

A new school is on the way for Murrumbateman, with the State Significant Development Application now lodged with the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment.

Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman is thrilled to hear the community is a step closer to benefitting from the new school.

“This is exciting for the Murrumbateman community, and I am proud the NSW Government is continuing to deliver modern school facilities to provide for students now and into the future,” Mrs Tuckerman said.

Once completed, the new school will include flexible learning spaces, a library, hall, and canteen, special education learning unit, covered outdoor learning area and administration and staff facilities.

Minister for Education Sarah Mitchell said the NSW Liberals & Nationals Government is building a world-class education system.

“I’m delighted that we’ve reached another milestone for the project at Murrumbateman which will deliver the high-quality school resources students need to succeed,” Ms Mitchell said.

“I’m proud that we are continuing our record investment in school infrastructure.”

A virtual information room will be available for the local community offering the first look at plans and artist renders of the new school, along with information regarding the project as a whole.

The room will be available from 9am Monday 28 June until 5pm Friday 2 July 2021 via the School Infrastructure NSW website: https://www.schoolinfrastructure.nsw.gov.au/projects/n/New-primaryschool-in-Murrumbateman.html

The NSW Government is investing $7.9 billion over the next four years, continuing its program to deliver 215 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW. This is the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.
