Proposal to include reporting obligations in respect of Related Party Transactions into Council’s Code of Conduct

Related Party Transactions

At its meeting of 22 April 2021, Council resolved to place the Related Party Transaction on public exhibition for a period of 28 days.

The purpose of this Policy is pertaining to modifying its code of conduct to include Councillor’s notification of potential conflicts of interest associated with the interests of related parties (relatives, business partners etc) that may be relevant in Council decisions on, for example, awarding contracts.

If no submissions are received, then the modifications adopted by Council at the 22 April 2021 meeting (resolution 21/04/34) will be incorporated into the Council’s Code of Conduct as adopted. Following the exhibition period, a summary of submissions made, and any recommended changes, will be included in a further to Council for final adoption.
