Give me some Space at Story Time!

30 April, 2021

Imagine astronauts reading stories from space to children & families in an exciting event that combines literature with science!

ALIA along with Scholastic, the Australian Space Agency, Story Time From Space and the Office of the Chief Scientist invites you to join an intergalactic Storytime experience. The National Simultaneous Storytime 2021 book will be read by astronaut Dr Shannon Walker on the International Space Station.

Lithgow Library is thrilled to be participating in this special event with a space themed Storytime in the library, on Wednesday 19 May 2021, at 10.30am. At 11am Lithgow, Portland and Wallerawang libraries will join in the National event with Dr Walker reading the NSS book “Give Me Some Space” by Philip Bunting.

National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country.

In its 21st year NSS has truly gone out of this world to celebrate and Lithgow Library is very excited to be part of this outstanding event. Storytime is free and is held every Wednesday at 10.30am in Lithgow Library and every Tuesday at 10.30am at Wallerawang Library.

No bookings are required for National Simultaneous Storytime on Wednesday 19 May 2021 starting at 10.30am in Lithgow and at 11am at Portland and Wallerawang.  For more information contact Lithgow Library on 6352 9100 or go to the library webpage www.library.lithgow.com
