Artists and creatives will be pleased to know the new Avalon Workshop at Avalon has just been completed.

Following extensive community engagement, the lower level of the Avalon Golf Clubhouse was identified as a great opportunity for a creative repurpose of the underutilised space.

The site has been transformed into a functional space design especially with creatives in mind and includes a creative studio and two multi-use workshops which aim to make creativity more accessible to the community.

The facility will be perfect for people to meet and discuss their creative practices, share, experiment and develop their skills, and engage with like-minded folk to increase motivation and inspiration.

The two workshop spaces will be available for hire and ideal for holding classes, artist talks, pop-ups, while the studio will be available for lease for up to 18 months. It has been fitted out with the essentials including lockable storage cupboards, sinks, a kitchenette, tables, chairs, and high-speed Wi-Fi.

Avalon Workshop complements Council’s other facilities for the local creative community including the Creative Space at North Curl Curl and the Manly Art Gallery and Museum.  The arts are strongly supported by Northern Beaches Council.

If you’d like to check out the space come down to the Open Weekend on 6-7 March between 10am-3pm  Staff will be available to answer your questions about hiring the space. So pop by for a coffee and a sneak peek.

This project was made possible by the Merger Savings Fund.
