Off-track events to go ahead differently
Bathurst 21 Sep 2020

MEDIA RELEASE 21 September 2020

Children, families and friends can enjoy the excitement of the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 with a variety of off-track events.

Activities include a scavenger hunt, a colouring-in competition and window displays.

Mayor Bobby Bourke said while the off-track events will be very different to previous years, we can implement activities in a safe way that support the local economy over race week.

“We can still celebrate Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 and we have some activities planned that will add to the excitement and support our local businesses at the same time,” he said.

“We are asking our local businesses to become involved as well by encouraging them to host race week-themed events or by creating a window display.”

VERTO Chief Executive Officer, Ron Maxwell, said the organisation is proud to sponsor the scavenger hunt.

“VERTO has been an important part of the Bathurst community for more than three decades, so we are thrilled to team with Bathurst Regional Council to provide our local community with a fun, but safe event these school holidays.

“VERTO understands that these holidays will look a lot different because of COVID-19 restrictions, but we hope that the scavenger hunt can provide lots of fun and laughter for people of all ages.”
