Lithgow City Council and the Youth Council are proud to announce the winners of our Youth week competitions. There were amazing entries from a range of talented and creative local young people and choosing the winners wasn’t an easy task.

The judging took place after competitions closed in July. Local writers, artists and professional musicians were on our judging panels and after deliberation the awards are as follows:

Battle of the Bands:

Winner Best Original: Hollow Point

Winner Best Cover: Braden Coleman

People’s choice: Phantom Dreams

Runner Up: Elizabeth Balzke

Art Prize:

Winner: Gabriel Foxx

People’s choice: Nina Sheather

Runner up: Elizabeth Balzke

Short Story:

Winner: Lily Wardell

People’s choice: Abbie Payne

Highly commended: Jake Campbell

“The young people of our region are a talented bunch”, says Mayor Ray Thompson, “It’s a pleasure to see the work they put in and the results they produced in the Youth Week competitions. Despite the unusual circumstances we are all facing this year, the Youth week events were a resounding success.”
