Accessibility has improved at the Warringah Aquatic Centre following several upgrades to the entrance of the facility and pool deck.

Council was able to spearhead this project during the mandatory closure of the centre due to Covid-19 restrictions, taking one month to complete the renovations.

The Swim School office has now relocated to the pool deck allowing parents to remain next to their children in the pool whilst liaising with program coordinators and swim instructors. With the existing office having stair only access, the new location also means it’s now wheelchair and pram friendly too.

The foyer has also been refurbished streamlining patrons entering and interacting with reception staff and there is also an improved retail offering of swimming goggles and outfits, drinks, and snacks which are available all day.

To keep in line with Councils commitment to sustainability, the old tiles and metal were sorted and recycled. The much-loved award shields and pictures of Olympic swimmers have also been reinstated in the foyer.
