The Liverpool community can now access the Library collection from anywhere, at any time, with the new Liverpool City Library mobile app.

“The innovative Liverpool City Library app makes joining the Library a breeze, allowing customers to sign up and explore the catalogue, reserve items, renew borrowed items and easily access their accounts,” Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller said.

“It also allows quick and easy access to find and enjoy eBooks, eAudiobooks, digital magazines and newspapers, eComics, and eResearch databases.

“And members need never fear forgetting their Library card again with the app’s digital Library card close to hand and ready to go.”

If members are out and about and see a book they like, they can use the app to scan the barcode on the back and find out immediately if it is in the Library collection. If not, the app allows members to suggest new items to be added.

Members can personalise the menu for easier access to their favourite shortcuts, such as MyAccount, the Library What’s On guide, eLibrary collection, Suggest A Purchase and the Web Print function to print from the device.

When you wish to visit a Library branch, the app will help locate the closest one to you, provide contact details and opening hours and even give you directions to help you get there.

The Liverpool City Library app is available for both Apple and Android users via the Apple App store and Google Play.
