Council Services and Facilities Opening Hours Queens birthday long WEEKEND

Over the upcoming long weekend residents across the Moree Plains are encouraged to stay safe and reminded to abide by social distancing measures while enjoying the public holiday. 

On the Queen’s Birthday public holiday (Monday 8 June 2020), the following changes to services and facilities should be noted: 

Unless otherwise set out below, Council’s services and facilities will operate as usual over the weekend of Saturday 6 June and Sunday 7 June with usual services resuming on Tuesday 9 June.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

Over the long weekend, community members can continue to contact Council 24 hours a day on (02) 6757 3222 for our after hours’ telephone service.

WASTE SERVICES

Kerbside Garbage, Recycling and Organics Collection

Residents are advised that kerbside garbage, recycling and organics collections will operate as usual.

Landfill (Biniguy, Boggabilla, Boomi, Garah, Mungindi, Terry Hie Hie and Moree Waste Management Facility)

The Shire’s landfill facilities will operate as detailed below:

The following public toilets will remain open; all other public toilets are closed, until further notice.

COMMUNITY SERVICES Tourism Moree

Tourism Moree visitor centre is closed this weekend but will be open from 9am to 1pm Saturdays from 13 June 2020 but remain closed on Sundays.

Water Filling Station, Moree Depot, Tycannah Street

Council’s Depot, including the Water Filling Station will reopen on Tuesday 9 June. 

Ranger Services

Moree Regional Airport

Moree Regional Airport will operate as usual.

Bank Art Museum Moree

The Bank Art Museum Moree is open on Saturday 6 June and closed on Monday 8 June. 

Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre | Boomi Pool | Mungindi Pool

All Shire Pools are closed until further notice.

Library Services and Dhiiyaan Aboriginal Centre

The Mungindi CTC and Dhiiyaan Aboriginal Centre are closed until further notice.  The Moree Community Library is closed over the long weekend, and will re-open Tuesday 9th June.
