Council has established an emergency grant program for eligible local community organisations and charities to support those affected by the impact of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).  

The COVID-19 Community Response Grant Funding will be allocated to projects delivered over the next six months on the Northern Beaches, with eligible organisations able to apply for funding between $5,000 and $15,000.

The grant program intends to fill the gap for community groups requiring support, alongside federal and state government initiatives.

This COVID-19 Community Response Grant program is separate to Council’s annual Community Grants Program.

Proposals must meet at least one of the following criteria:

Assist organisations helping vulnerable groups with basic needs (including food supplies, financial hardship, accommodation and social isolation etc.) where they have seen an increase in demand due to COVID-19Expand current service delivery or establish new services to support community members impacted by COVID-19, particularly around increased levels of unemploymentAssist organisations experiencing volunteer gaps due to quarantines, loss of volunteers and social distancingProjects that address increased homelessness issues, particularly rough sleepersProjects that address increased social isolationProjects that address the mental health impacts of COVID-19.

Applications are now open, with grants awarded on an ongoing basis up until 1 December 2020 (or until funds are exhausted).
