Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Training for Volunteers

This online training session to celebrate National Volunteering Week covers information on Aboriginal Australia, a history of Aboriginal-settler relations and protocols/strategies for engagement.

The training is broken into three main sections, information on Aboriginal Australia, a history of Aboriginal-settler relations and protocols/strategies for engagement.

By the end of the training you will be able to:

Recall key points of Aboriginal culture, identity and history – including the shared history since European settlement. Recognise the significance of protocols, such as Welcome to Country and Acknowledgement of Traditional Owners. Identify ways to work together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians, in and out of the workplace.
