Road closures in upper mountains for dangerous tree removal
Blue Mountains 3 Mar 2020

As part of the ongoing recovery works after the recent bush fires, the RFS has engaged Council to remove the remaining fire-affected trees from the Gospers Mountain Fire along roads in Bell, Mount Irvine and Mount Wilson over the next 4 to 6 weeks.

To facilitate this work, a series of road closures will be in place throughout March and April.

A hard road closure will be in place from 7am-3pm at the following roads:

4 – 15 March (inclusive) at Mount Irvine Road, Mount Irvine (from the Cathedral of Ferns to the junction with Bowens Creek Road and Danes Way). 5 – 10 March (inclusive) at Danes Way, Mount Irvine

There will be no access to this section of Mount Irvine Road and the whole of Danes Way during these closures, at the times outlined above. We understand this is inconvenient, however it is unavoidable.

There are a number of dangerous trees on these roads which are at risk of falling. These trees need to be removed and we will be working to get the work completed as soon as possible.

Other roads in the area will be affected and we will update residents as these closures are confirmed.

We have contacted affected residents directly, and will continue to update them with any developments or changes as they occur.
