Sea Eagles footy legend Steve 'Beaver' Menzies loved every minute of last Saturday's Sun Run, declaring it 'amazing' from start to finish.

The event ambassador made his way to Manly from Dee Why Beach with thousands of other competitors in the 7km event, and was blown away by the collective level of enthusiasm from his fellow entrants.

"Everyone was in great spirits, it was great fun,'' he said.

"It was good to see plenty of runners in Sea Eagles gear as well."

Fellow ambassador Remy Siemsen was also grinning from ear to ear, comfortably completing the 7km course.

"I took it pretty easy, it was awesome mingling with everyone,'' the Sydney FC W-League striker said.

"It was very humbling to be an event ambassador, seeing all the smiling faces made my day."

Northern Beaches Council Mayor Michael Regan revealed over $150,000 was raised for charity, with over 4000 runners taking part in the Sun Run across three formats.

Over 3000 swimmers donned pink caps in Sunday's Cole Classic, over distances of 1km, 2km and 5km, in what was truly a weekend 'Festival of Fitness' on the northern beaches.
