Residents who are interested in making Campbelltown a more sustainable and resilient place are invited to be inspired by some of the sustainability sector’s leading minds at Thrive – Ideas to Inspire.

Thrive is a series of TED Talks-style events which focus on sharing, showcasing and celebrating ideas that drive positive change. Upcoming topics include a ground breaking heat study conducted in Campbelltown, green infrastructure and how we can set our city up for to be resilient in the future.

The first event will be held on 6 February at the Campbelltown Arts Centre where Western Sydney University Senior Research Fellow, Dr Sebastian Pfautsch will speak about a ground-breaking study on the urban heat island effect conducted in Campbelltown last summer.

“We’re excited to have some of the brightest minds in the sustainability and resilience fields here in Campbelltown to speak about some of the exciting initiatives that are happening in our city and across Sydney,” Mayor George Brticevic said.

“Come along and find out how you can be part of making Campbelltown a more sustainable and resilient city,” Cr Brticevic said.

Junglefy co-founder and managing Director, Jock Gammon, will speak about the positive effects of green infrastructure in the urban landscape and an exciting Breathing Wall pilot project being delivered at Campbelltown Station.

Resilient Sydney Deputy Chief Resilience Officer Kristin Gabriel will speak about the Resilient Sydney Strategy and how to create cities that thrive  on 2 April.

Talks in the Thrive – Ideas to Inspire series are held on the first Thursday of each month at the Campbelltown Arts Centre from 6pm to 8pm.

More talks in the Thrive – Ideas to Inspire series will be announced in the coming months.
