With Bells Line of Road reopened, domestic waste collection will resume in Clarence and Dargan from next week.

Domestic waste will be collected from the Clarence and Dargan areas as normal on Monday 30 December. Residents that have damaged or destroyed bins are asked to call Council’s call centre by 4.30pm Thursday 2nd January 2020 on 63549999 to advise their address and the replacement bins that they require. Replacement bins will then be supplied on Friday 3rd January 2020. Residents are then asked to put their damaged bins out on the Thursday night for removal when the new bins are supplied.

For properties lost to the bushfire, major cleanups will be organised by insurance companies. For non-insured properties, major cleanups are conducted by the NSW Government Public Works Advisory (1800 88 55 39).

The Office of Emergency Management has offered financial assistance for the provision of potable water to residents who have significantly reduced their potable water supplies in the defence of their homes from the bushfires and who are not able to return to their homes without a supply of water being delivered. Please contact Council’s call centre for more information.

Council will reopen call centre operations on Monday 30 December (6354 9999). Hours of operation will be 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday of next week. Council’s Customer Service centre will reopen on Monday 6 January.

A Bushfire Recovery Centre will operate from Lithgow Workies Club on Monday 30 December and Tuesday 31 December (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). The Recovery Centre will be staffed by Council and the NSW Office of Emergency Management.

The Recovery Centre can provide residents with advice on bushfire disaster welfare, disaster recovery, available grants and assistance with Council services.
