CLOSURES: RESERVES, LOOKOUTS, WALKING TRACKS & CAMPGROUNDS

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Due to continuing bush fire activity and severe weather conditions predicted for the coming days, Council is CLOSING RESERVES, CAMPGROUNDS, LOOKOUTS and WALKING TRACKS. This is in addition to all sportsground closures, announced yesterday.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service have also closed all facilities in the Blue Mountains National Park.

While there is currently no immediate threat to the Blue Mountains, weather conditions are expected to deteriorate over the next few days, which can make bush fire activity more unpredictable. We have taken a safety first approach, and because of this we have decided to pre-emptively close all these spaces until Sunday, 22 December (inclusive).

There is currently a state-wide Total Fire Ban from Wednesday 18 December to Saturday 21 December (inclusive). The Fire Danger Rating is EXTREME today. Get more information on Fire Danger Ratings and Total Fire Bans.
