Veterans Memorial Park upgrade complete

Cessnock City Council is pleased to let the community know the upgrades to Veterans Memorial Park in Aberdare are now complete and have resulted in a huge improvement to the reserve.

The works have included the installation of great new facilities for people to enjoy including two picnic shelters, additional seating and BBQ facilities. This has been topped off with landscaping works, gardens, new lighting and boundary fencing.

Our youngest residents will also be happy to see the completion of a new concrete pathway and bike track, along with brand new play equipment and shade sails.

Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent said he looks forward to seeing the community enjoying the new facilities at the park.

“Veterans Memorial Park has always been a popular spot for local families and I am certain that with these new upgrades, we will see even more people using the area.”

“With the help of successful grant funding, many of our local parks across the region have been revamped this year, which has been wonderful to see.”

This project was made possible thanks to Council securing a $345,000 grant through the NSW Stronger Country Communities Fund.
