It may not be at the forefront of everyone’s mind but planning ahead for wills, estates and funerals can help relieve some of the stress after the loss of a loved one.

Rest assured: A legal guide to wills, estates, planning ahead and funerals in NSW is now available at the HJ Daley Library, Greg Percival Library Ingleburn, Glenquarie Library and Eagle Vale Library.

The guide provides advice on what you should consider when writing a will, the responsibilities of managing an estate and how to contest a will as well as how to plan ahead for the big decisions to come.

The book also includes information on complex issues like burials on private land or at sea and coroner’s cases.

It was written by specialist wills and estates lawyer, Rosemary Long and South Western Sydney Local Health District Director of Social Work, Trudy Coffey.

The guide is a project of the State Library of NSW as part of their Find Legal Answers Service.

The guide is available as part of the Legal Tool Kit at the library.
