Councillors in the Community

Come chat with Councillors and senior staff on matters that are important to you.

Bega Valley Shire Council’s commitment to refining and developing our communication and engagement processes takes another step forward with the announcement of a second instalment of Councillors in the Community sessions.

For some time now, Council has hosted public forums in a variety of guises, however following the success of the original group of these community sessions during 2018, the decision has been taken to expand on the concept and continue to involve all the elected representatives.

The main objective of the Councillors in the Community sessions is to enable members of the public to engage with the Councillors and senior staff on matters that are important to them in their own town.

The desire to hear from as many people as possible is supported by the roaming nature of the sessions and evening scheduling, with the focus to again fall on some of our smaller centres, including Wonboyn, Quaama and Wyndham.

Along with the opportunity to engage directly with the Councillors, the sessions will also feature displays and information on current and future projects and activities; the attendance of technical staff to engage around known local issues; and the documentation of ideas and issues of interest to the attendees.

Councillors in the Community 2019 Wonboyn - 5:30pm, Wednesday 1 May @ the Fire Shed Quaama - 5:30pm, Wednesday 22 May @ the Hall Wyndham - 5:30pm, Wednesday 5 June @ the Uniting Church
