Council is changing time limits at four off-street carparks in the Collaroy Beach precinct to help improve tighter parking availability since the introduction of the B-Line bus service

The move comes after two comprehensive rounds of consultation with the Collaroy community and local businesses.

Generally, people said they wanted to keep the parking spaces used by commuters during the week - but also to have a mix of parking time-restrictions in the Collaroy Beach southern carpark.

In response, Council has introduced shorter-term parking in several of its Collaroy carparks so more people can enjoy local attractions and support local businesses, while still providing all-day parking in the Collaroy Beach commuter carpark from Monday-to-Friday.

Collaroy’s beautiful beach, busy playground, cafes, shops and cinema attract many visitors who compete for parking with commuters in the local Council carparks, too.

However, the main limitation to creating dedicated commuter parking in Collaroy is the hilly local terrain and the lack of suitable off-street space.

The new parking times should make it easier, however, both for local people trying to find a parking space - and for commuters heading off to work in the city.

The new off-street parking arrangements are:

Collaroy Beach Carpark (North) - 120 spaces total, 7am-7pm, split into two sections: Section 1 (82 spaces: 12P Monday – Sunday) and Section 2 (38 spaces: 12P Monday – Friday, 4P Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays). Time restrictions will apply to all users.Collaroy Beach Middle Carpark (south of Collaroy Beaches Club) – 10 spaces total, 7am-7pm, 1P every day. No change to disabled car parking spaces.Collaroy Beach Playground Carpark - 72 spaces total, 7am-7pm, split into two sections: Section 1 (45 spaces: 12P Monday - Friday and 6P Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays) and Section 2 (27 spaces: 4P every day).
