Bake a cake to celebrate the Greg Percival Library, Ingleburn's 10th birthday.

Dessert lovers and home bakers are invited to create a cake for a friendly competition to help celebrate the Greg Percival Library, Ingleburn’s 10th birthday on Saturday 16 March.

There will be family fun activities and events held as part of the festivities including Storytime for young children, colouring competitions, prizes and giveaways.

“Greg Percival Library is an important community hub in our city. Our libraries are vibrant and exciting centres of learning and connection where people can access technologies and resources, learn new skills and join classes for free, in a safe and inclusive environment,’’ said Mayor George Brticevic.

“The  novelty cake tins collection was introduced at Greg Percival Library in May last year and since then they have proved to be extremely popular with borrowers,’’ Cr Brticevic said.

The 1500sqm library was purpose built to meet the needs of the growing community. The building includes a large community centre that incorporates the heritage listed 1911 School of the Arts building next door.

Registration forms for the Bake a Cake competition are available from Wednesday 6 March and entries can be submitted at Greg Percival, HJ Daley, Eagle Vale or Glenquarie Library by the close of business on Wednesday 13 March.

The Bake a Cake and the colouring competitions are open in three age categories – under 12 years, 13 to 17 years and over 18 years.

Cakes can be delivered to the Greg Percival Library, Ingleburn by 7pm on Friday 15 March or between 8am and 8.30am on Saturday 16 March.

The event will be held 9am to 12pm Saturday 16 March at Greg Percival Library, on the corner of Oxford Road and Cumberland Road, Ingleburn.
