A long-held dream of joining 80km of paths around Sydney’s beautiful foreshores into one cohesive experience has become a reality, with all three levels of Government, Local, State and Federal announcing an historic partnership to create a single walking track from Bondi Beach to Manly Beach.

Tourists from across the country and around the world are expected to flock to Sydney to walk what is already being touted as one of the world’s greatest urban walks. Locals will also enjoy discovering new areas of our beautiful foreshore.

Starting at Bondi Beach, the path winds through and past some of the most stunning coastal scenery, dozens of bays and inlets, past the Opera House and across the Harbour Bridge through Manly’s North Head and past Shelly Beach before finishing at the world-famous Manly Beach.

The paths are all existing and on public land, but the installation of seamless physical way marks along along the track, will complete this project.

“We are thrilled to be part of the partnership that will see a world-class walk the length of our magnificent harbour,” said Northern Beaches Mayor Michael Regan.

“We first joked that it should be the Manly to Bondi walk, but now we agree that Manly is the perfect place to finish a long walk. You can celebrate with a beer on Manly Wharf, lunch at funky café or a swim at what the trip advisor community voted as Australia’s best beach – Manly!”

“Northern Beaches Council is also part way through the construction of another iconic walk along the entire Northern Beaches coastline from Manly to Palm Beach. This will add another 36kms of spectacular walking track so people will be able to literally walk for days and only see our incredible harbour and ocean.”

The Bondi to Manly Walk has been established through the cooperation of the City of Sydney, Mosman Council, North Sydney Council, Northern Beaches Council, Waverley Council, Woollahra Council, Property New South Wales, the New South Wales Office of Environment and Heritage, the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust, and Bondi to Manly Walk Supporters.
