Claremont Seniors celebrate Seniors Week
Town of Claremont 8 Nov 2018
The older generation will be spoilt for choice at this year’s Seniors Week with Town of Claremont’s endless list of activities.

WA Seniors Week will run from Sunday 11 to Saturday 17 November 2018, with events and activities held across the state to acknowledge seniors and show appreciation for their valued contribution to society.

Town of Claremont Mayor Jock Barker said the Town had organised an action-packed week of events for their community.

“Seniors make a valuable contribution to our community and we believe it is important there are opportunities to celebrate later life,” Mayor Barker said. “There’ll be yoga classes, health workshops, walking groups and golfing activities on offer as well as the always-popular Twilight River Cruise.”

“With over 35% of our Town’s population over the age of 55, it’s important for us to be able to support active ageing in the community by promoting opportunities for social participation, health, learning and inclusion.” “The range of events on offer means there is something for everyone to enjoy. It is a great opportunity for our senior community to get involved and try something new,” Mayor Barker said.

Local businesses will be joining in the celebrations, with promotions for senior customers including discounted coffees at Stand’In Room, half price entry at Claremont Aquatic Centre, discounts at Friendlies Chemist, $10 golf and coffee at Lake Claremont Golf Course as well as discounted classes at Tamara Yoga.
