The Swan Valley is at the forefront of the minds of over 113,000 travel agents, tourism sector professionals and visitors after being showcased by the City of Swan at the National Association of Travel Agents Singapore (NATAS) Travel Fair 2018.

This year’s key tourism event attracted 91 exhibitors and drew record-breaking crowds, which saw 40 per cent more attendees than last year’s.

City of Swan Acting CEO Jim Coten said the City attended the event, in partnership with Destination Perth, to gain valuable market intelligence and endorse the Swan Valley to tourism industry professionals and potential consumers.

“Singapore is a big tourism market for Western Australia, representing 11 per cent of the State’s total visitation,” he said.

“Between March 2017 and March 2018, there were 102,000 total visitors to Perth from Singapore.

“Singaporean tourists are also some of the highest international spenders in WA, ranking fourth at $216 million between March 2017 and March 2018.

“Having identified this important market, we think it is essential to promote our incredible Swan Valley to Singapore in order to strengthen our local tourism industry.”

Visitors at this year’s NATAS expo shared their interest in family and farm stay activities, WA’s beautiful climate, and local fresh produce.

City of Swan Mayor David Lucas said the City’s vision is to lead the way in tourism for Western Australia.

“The Swan Valley is an incredibly unique and popular destination - with a landscape unlike any other in Perth, paired with wonderful local produce and close proximity to Perth City,” he said.

“I look forward to seeing our 3.1 million annual Swan Valley visits increase in numbers from here.”
