Fairfield City Council's many services will provide fun activities for children of all ages these school holidays.

In addition to school holiday activities for younger children, there are many fun events and workshops organised as part of Youth Week for teenagers up until Monday 23 April. 

Active Kids School Holiday Program

Kids will have a ball at the Active Kids school holiday program, held over two weeks (16 - 20 April, 23 - 27 April, excluding ANZAC Day on 25 April) at the Fairfield Leisure Centre Precinct. The program runs 8.30am- 4pm daily and incorporates a large variety of physical activities to allow children to make friends and learn new skills in a safe environment with top-class facilities. Children will enjoy a range of activities including badminton, table tennis, trampolines and more. Prices start at $50 per day.

Colourful Cupboard Loom Weavings Learn to weave using a cupboard loom. Using different types of bright and funky textured wools and ribbons which you can convert the finished product into a wall hanging. Tuesday 17 April, 10.30am - 12pm Ages: 7+ Cost: $8 per participant

Fishy Hanging Mobiles        Create your own hanging mobile in this under the sea themed workshop. Examples of character include jellyfish, starfish, ocean plants and corals. Wednesdays 18 & 25 April (Two day workshop), 10.30am - 12pm Ages: 8+ Cost: $15 for the two day workshop per participant

Cardboard Castles Princesses, dragons, knights, and castles – the stuff fairy tales and history are made of! Create a medieval cardboard fortress while also being Earth-friendly. Masterpiece Masks          Create and paint unusual masks inspired by famous artists out of craft, sustainable and recyclable materials. Friday 20 April, 10.30am - 12pm Ages: 7+ Cost: $8 per participant

Bunny or Chick Easter Bags Create adorable bunny or chicken sling bags from paper plates in this Easter themed workshop.  Monday 23 April, 10.30am - 12pm Ages: 6+ Cost: $8 per participant

Hip Hula Hoops         Add a little bit of flair, colour and design to an otherwise plain hoop. Design and tape your very own hoop, then learn some coolio circus tricks to impress your family and friends. Tuesday 24 April, 10.30am - 12pm Ages: 5+ Cost: $15 per participant

3D Paper Playground Design your imaginary play-land and bring it to life with unique 3D paper art and collage paper techniques. Thursday 26 April, 10.30am - 12pm Cost: $8 per participant

Whimsical Watercolours Using bold and bright colours learn how to make a simple, whimsical landscape painting using watercolour paints and techniques! Friday 27 April, 10.30am - 12pm Ages: 6+ Cost: $8 per participant

Comic Illustration Workshop Inspired by our Matt Huynh exhibition, learn about the art of comics in this two hour workshop with local comic artist. Participants will learn new drawing techniques, mark-making and design a comic layout complete with thumbnail and sketches. Saturday 28th April 10am – 12pm Cost: $12 per participant Ages: 8-16
